The Burma Burma Way: Bringing a Piece of Burma to Your Neighbourhood
Dine at a Burma Burma near you

Team Burma Burma
In the last decade, Burma Burma has grown from being India’s only Burmese specialty restaurant and tea room into a cultural bridge between Burma’s soulful cuisine and communities across India. Every new restaurant is more than just an opening; it’s a celebration of flavour, tradition, and storytelling. For us, it’s about creating spaces where families gather, friends connect, and culture-seekers discover the magic of Burmese food beyond the familiar Khowsuey.
2025 has been a landmark year for us, marked by new beginnings. From lakeside neighbourhoods to buzzing business districts, we’re weaving Burmese warmth into India’s most dynamic corners.
September brought with it three new homes for Burma Burma. We mushroomed in three distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own spirit.
Dialling it up in Delhi
At DLF Promenade, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, we became part of a larger story. Alongside our recent launches at Worldmark 3-Aerocity and Worldmark 65-Gurugram, DLF Promenade-Vasant Kunj, marked the third restaurant in the capital region within just a few weeks.
At this address, the design draws inspiration from Yangon’s iconic Strand Hotel, blending colonial-era charm with modern finesse. From the cane-clad tea bar to the feature wall printed with The Strand insignia, every corner evokes nostalgia while remaining contemporary. The flooring patterns, lacquered panels, and vintage-inspired pendant lights create a space that feels historic yet alive.
Back to where it all began
Every new restaurant is an opportunity to showcase a different aspect of Burmese art and culture. In Mumbai, our latest opening in Powai is nestled at One Boulevard. This new address is at the heart of one of the city’s most vibrant, cosmopolitan neighbourhoods. Powai is home to families, young professionals, and students — all united by a love for discovery. Here, diners can step into a warm space inspired by Burma’s ten traditional arts and crafts, Pan Sel Myo, or the ‘Ten Flowers of Burma’. The 58-seater restaurant balances indoor and outdoor seating, with terracotta-toned floors, a Baroda green marble tea bar with a fluted brass apron, and warm, handcrafted touches that reflect both craftsmanship and storytelling. The space embodies Powai’s cosmopolitan energy while staying deeply rooted in Burma’s traditions.
We now have our eyes set on BKC’s Jio World Drive. And, we can’t wait to bring Burmese cooking and culture to Mumbai’s financial powerhouse by day, cultural playground by night — BKC. By opening here, we’re placing Burma Burma in the middle of it all: among professionals seeking thoughtful lunches, luxury shoppers from Jio World Drive, and culture-seekers visiting NMACC and Jio Gardens. With interiors inspired by Burmese parasols and a menu crafted to balance tradition with modernity, this space will be where heritage meets hustle.
Taking Burma to every corner of India
Looking back, September’s momentum sits on the foundation of an already eventful year. In May, we opened at EcoWorld, Bengaluru, which brought Burmese food to a bustling corporate hub where dining doubles as networking.
By July, we were back in Mumbai with a new outpost at Palladium Mall, Lower Parel, where the design is inspired by the mystical caves of Hpa-An, complete with earthy palettes and sculptural forms. It’s a reminder that every Burma Burma space is not just about eating, but about being transported.
August was all about Delhi-NCR. We launched at Aerocity, a neighbourhood that thrives on global travellers and late-night seekers, and Worldmark 65, Gurugram, where the city’s young, aspirational crowd found a new spot to savour flavours the Burma Burma way.
We’re thrilled to be bringing Burma Burma to new neighbourhoods, and the last few months have been exciting for us. Each restaurant lets us engage with new communities and share Burma’s stories in fresh ways.
Setting sights on new neighbourhoods
The year isn’t over, and neither is our journey. We’re gearing up to open in Chandigarh soon — a city that blends tradition with a progressive lifestyle. For a place known for its food-loving community, we’re excited to introduce Burmese cuisine as both comfort and discovery.
In Mumbai, Borivali will join the map. The neighbourhood’s family-driven dining culture makes it an ideal setting for our hearty curries, shareable plates, and nostalgia-laced desserts.
While new openings grab headlines, what truly sets Burma Burma apart is what lies beyond the plate. Each of our restaurants is designed as a cultural journey. The interiors reflect Burma’s crafts, landscapes, and stories; whether it’s the parasol-inspired installation at BKC, the colonial elements of Strand Hotel in Delhi, or the cave-like textures of Palladium. With these details, we invite you to step into a space that feels both immersive and meaningful.
Our beverages continue to break ground, too. With zero-proof cocktails, artisanal teas brewed live at the table, and playful bubble teas, we’ve shown that a dining experience can be made more memorable with stellar alcohol-free drinks.
Most importantly, it’s the service and warmth that define the ‘Burma Burma way.’ From recommending the perfect tea to guiding you through lesser-known Burmese dishes like Laphet Thoke (tea leaf salad) or Samuza Soup, our teams are trained to bring Burmese culture to every table they serve.
While our story continues to expand neighbourhood by neighbourhood and community by community, we leave you with a reminder that there’s a Burma Burma near you. And we can’t wait to welcome you in.
