Bringing Burma Burma Closer To You: India Design, Servd Food Festival & The Grazer Fest

Celebrating Burmese flavours beyond our restaurants

by

Team Burma Burma

Burma Burma is an ode to the people, cuisine and culture of Burma. Our culinary team travelled across the country, trying local delicacies and handpicking hidden culinary gems from Burmese tea shops, street food and recipes passed down by generations. Burma Burma presents traditional Burmese flavours with a contemporary flair, creating a unique balance of comfort and craft, all on one table.

In February, we went beyond our restaurants and brought our signature Burmese flavours to new spaces. We participated in three events, each bringing an opportunity for us to take our cuisine beyond our restaurants into communities that love to gather, discover and share. From food festivals to design events, every setting brought a different energy. The one thing that remained constant was the way food brought people closer.

Burma Burma X India Design

Held in New Delhi, India Design is one of the country’s most renowned annual events, celebrating craft and innovation. It is where ideas take shape, craft meets contemporary thought and every detail tells a story. Design and Burmese flavours came together at the 14th edition of this highly anticipated event as we brought along our signature Burmese dishes, beverages and pantry essentials.

We joined the spirit of the event with Mie Mie’s museum and showcased our Burmese artefacts, which reflect traditions passed down through generations. As designers and art lovers explored the event, they stopped by for a comforting bowl of Khowsuey, a quick bite of our Crunchy Tofu Steamed Buns and a refreshing sip of our beverages. This edition of India Design came as a delightful opportunity to bring Burma Burma’s spirit and flavours to an exciting new space.

Burma Burma X Servd Food Festival

SERVD Food Festival brought together some of Mumbai’s most exciting flavours together for three days of delicious food, discoveries and shared experiences in a high-energy, community-driven space. The festival celebrated food not just as something to eat, but as something that brings people together. We had a great experience bringing our cuisine and culture to this event.

Over three vibrant, flavour-packed days, foodies gathered, discovering new flavours and enjoying old favourites. Mumbai arrived hungry, and our team served our signature plates. From quick bites and hearty mains to refreshing beverages. What made the experience truly memorable wasn’t just the food but the wonderful conversations. We were thrilled by the love we received. From the first-time tasters to regular guests returning for their favourites, our team thoroughly enjoyed serving and connecting with everyone.

Burma Burma X The Grazer Fest

The Grazer Fest in Ahmedabad is a platform for independent kitchens, emerging brands, and curious diners to meet and celebrate food. We participated in the event this year and had a wonderful experience as the festival turned into a lively celebration of food, conversations and recommendations.

Ahmedabad is a food lover’s paradise and we were thrilled to be part of this festival. WHile some visitors visited us asking for their favourites, many were introduced to it for the very first time. Our team had a great time chatting one-on-one with old and new guests, answering questions about the cuisine, ingredients, flavours & cooking styles. It gave us an exciting opportunity to understand and interact in a new, exciting space, as we introduced the depth, warmth, and culture of Burmese cuisine to a wider community and got their first-hand reactions and feedback.

What we observed and learnt

Burmese food has always celebrated togetherness and participating in these events gave us an opportunity to go beyond our restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the energy and the conversations that followed. Held in different cities, each of these festivals brought us closer to a new set of audiences and helped us get first-hand feedback and insights. We look forward to more such meet-ups. Watch this space for more updates.
