Burma Burma at Design Mumbai: When Craft Meets Cuisine
Where thoughtful design and soulful Burmese cuisine come together
by
Team Burma Burma
Design Mumbai is a place where creators, thinkers, and makers from around the world gather to explore how design shapes our lives. It is a space filled with ideas expressed through form, texture, sound and colour.
This year, Burma Burma became part of that conversation. Over four days from November 26 to November 29, 2025, our dishes, beverages, and pantry were part of this celebration of craftsmanship in all its forms. It felt like the perfect meeting point. A place where the way something is made matters as much as how it is experienced.
A Space That Celebrates Craft
Across the venue, visitors moved through immersive displays and tactile experiences. Light shifting across metal and wood. Textures revealing new stories. Every installation invites a pause. Amidst this, we became another crafted space – one inspired by Burma’s rich design motifs.
Conversations Over Bowls and Bites

Design Mumbai brings together architects, artists, designers and curious wanderers. Our team interacted with people who stopped by for comforting bowls, conversations over quick lunches and pit stops for refreshing beverages.
While some discovered contemporary Burmese cuisine for the first time, others recognised their familiar favourites and told us stories of their time at our restaurants and dishes that keep them coming back for more. These conversations become the heart of our presence. Each interaction reminded us why we do what we do. To create spaces and flavours that feel warm, thoughtful and rooted in stories.
Sharing Burma, One Story at a Time

Every event is an opportunity for us to turn the spotlight on Burma’s culture and flavours. At Design Mumbai, we see how beautifully these elements resonate with a community that values detail, process and imagination. Being part of events like these strengthens our belief that food, when crafted with intention, belongs in conversations about art, design and culture.
We leave with new connections, learnings and a renewed excitement for more to come.
