The interior design of every Burma Burma restaurant is inspired by different facets of Burmese culture. While the food introduces guests to the country's vibrant culinary traditions, the space itself tells another story. For our Thane restaurant, that story begins with the fascinating world of Burmese astrology. Unlike the twelve-sign zodiac familiar to many of us, the Burmese horoscope follows an eight-day zodiac, where Wednesday is divided into two days, each represented by its own mythical guardian. Deeply rooted in Burmese culture, these symbols have long influenced traditions, ceremonies and everyday life.

At Burma Burma Thane, these stories are thoughtfully woven into the interiors, creating a space that's designed to be explored as much as it's enjoyed. Designed around Burma's zodiac traditions by Minnie Bhatt of Minnie Bhatt Designs, the restaurant draws inspiration from Burma's rich cultural heritage while embracing a clean, contemporary aesthetic.

Look closer when you dine with us. You'll find Handcrafted Burmese zodiac symbols inspired by the country's eight-day horoscope in different corners. From Mythological figures and symbolic motifs that celebrate Burmese folklore to intricate Mandala-inspired artwork, every detail has been carefully chosen to offer a glimpse into Burma's artistic traditions while making the space feel relaxed, inviting and unmistakably Burma Burma. Rather than recreating Burma, we've tried to capture its spirit, one that values storytelling, craftsmanship and hospitality.
